About us

Trøndelag Europakontor is a member-based association based in Brussels. The office was established in 2001 and consists of members from the public sector, private business and R&D environments in Trøndelag. Together, we work for regional development and value creation in the Trøndelag region through internationalisation.

Our vision is an innovative Trøndelag in Europe. An innovative and competitive Trøndelag must be active on the European arena, and our mission is to contribute to this by being an advisor in current EU and EEA matters. Through knowledge sharing, connection and facilitation, we help our members to see the opportunities in European cooperation, and make Trøndelag better known in Europe. This is how we connect Trøndelag and Europe more closely.

The members' needs govern our activities. The office has thematic responsibilities in the areas of energy and mobility, social life and challenges and bio and circular economy, and is active in a number of relevant networks in both Brussels and Norway. We follow the EU's programs and initiatives closely, with particular focus on the EU's framework program for research and innovation. Here, Trøndelag makes a strong case with its world-leading R&D environments.
